Volleyball
Divisions:
- Junior (Grades 3-4, 2nd Grade with a parent coaching)
- Senior (Grades 5-6, 7th and 8th grade who are not playing for JAJHS)
Games:
- Games are played on Saturday mornings for both divisions
- Previous Seasons' games have been at The Ball House (321 W Bigelow Ave., Plain City, OH 43064)
- Games are played on the hour, for either time limit (50 minutes) or win by score (best of 3 games)
- Scoring is rally score except 3rd match which is side-out score; best of 3 sets to 25, 25, and 15
- Players rotate counter clockwise and rotate in (instead of subbing) to help keep players in the game more
Schedule:
- Registrations open in July near the JAHS Volleyball camp and will be open through the first week of school
- (New for the 2022 season) Evaluations will be at the end of August
- (New for the 2023 season) Picture Day TBD
- Practices begin before or after Labor Day (depending on coaches & gym availability)
- Practices take place at PCES or Canaan
- Games begin mid September (all teams have one double header weekend)
- (New for the 2023 season) PCABA Youth Night @ Junior High (September)
- PCABA Youth Night @ Varsity Volleyball game (usually October)
- PCABA Team Day @ OSU Women's Volleyball game (usually October)
- Schedule is subject to changes due to availability and participation numbers
Equipment:
Parents are responsible for:
- Kneepads are recommended and encouraged
- Non-slip, non-skid marking tennis shoes. Volleyball shoes not required
- Water Bottle
PCABA will provide game shirt.
